Reading at Café Express by Maureen Gallagher and Mary Ellen Fean

centre4Maureen Gallagher and Mary Ellen Fean will read their work as the Western Writers’ Centre contribution to Culture Night in Galway, at the Café Express, Shop Street, at 7pm, September 20th. Our thanks to Galway City Council Arts Office. 

Maureen Gallagher’s first collection of poetry, Calling the Tune, was published by Wordsonthestreet Press in December 2008. She has won or been shortlisted for many awards, including the Goldsmith Poetry Award, the Swift Satire Award. the Blackstaff Blog award, the HISSAC Short Story Award, the Writers’ Village Short Story Award and most recently the Cúirt International Award.

Mary Ellen Fean, who lives in Shannon, has published work in The SHOp, Revival, The Clare Champion and elsewhere and has read widely, including at the recent Aran Festival at Inishmore, the lunchtime readings at Limerick’s Hunt Museum courtesy of the Limerick Writers’ Centre and at The White House poetry gatherings in Limerick.
