Susan Isla Tepper is the author of 10 published books of fiction and poetry and 2 stage plays. Her new satirical Novel titled ‘Office’ is forthcoming from Wilderness House Press.

From the Sea Wall

That cold summer we slept
on dirty sheets, tore holes
from overgrown nails
catching the bottom hem

You were incorrigible.
Fights broke out
over which was the top
or bottom sheet
— I didn’t sense a difference

Started bathing
in the chilly sea mornings
to erase that odor
clinging everywhere.

You watched
aloof
cloaked in wool
from the distant sea wall.

Central to Digby Beaumont’s art is the expression and arousal of emotion. He works on portraits, still lifes and landscapes. He also has a series of drawings titled I Don’t Know What Came Over Me, a whimsical and poignant take on the theme of what it is to be human. He works with acrylic paint, mostly on canvas board, and pen and ink on paper. He also produces mixed media prints. Digby is self-taught. He became a professional artist in 2021. His art has been showcased by online journals and published extensively in collaboration with writers of fiction and poetry. Before becoming an artist, he worked as a writer for many years.
