For a number of years Cuirt International Festival of Literature has unveiled plaques around Galway at different locations linked to writing about Galway. The prose and poetry collections cast onto bronze or carved into stone, are on display throughout the city providing a literary trail for locals and visitors. Each plaque is made possible with the support of Galway City Council in conjunction with Kenny’s Bookshop. This year two plaques will be added to the collection:
The first, Margadh by Máire Holmes, will be unveiled on Tuesday April 19th at 4pm outside Geraghty’s on Lombard Street.
The second, Galway Bay by Arthur Colohan, (with an Irish translation and a French translation by Joseph Gilmartin) will be unveiled on the promenade directly opposite the aquarium on Wednesday April 20th at 1pm.
