Reap
I’ve harvested love from the strangest fruit.
I’ve collected it – stored it in bundles.
Bales tucked deep in my body
vibrate in anticipation and longing.
Warm like morning blankets
or matted fur.
I exhale, its sweetness
awaiting to be caught. Close my eyes.
I am like the sun and its fingers
clinging to everything in its wake.
