Only when the blood
has been hardened
into knots— can be used
for tying up fruit bags
bread loaves
the poultry
potatoes and the meat,
all the fish in all the oceans
Only when men of greatly
disturbed power
finally come to recognize
fall to their knees
choking down
the blood knots of their own making
