Cass McGuire has returned home to Ireland after more than fifty years of exile in New York city, where she has led a life among dead-beats and wash-outs on Skid Row. Her dreams of living out the rest of her days with her beloved brother and his family don’t follow the romantic script, however, as we follow her lonely journey through rejection and eventual surrender to the make-believe survival of Eden House.
