New Book by Daniel Sammon

SammonOn Sunday 25th October 2015 a new book by local author Daniel Sammon called ‘Croagh Patrick & Me’ will be launched in Renvyle House Hotel at 6pm. Everyone is welcome, book lovers and non-book lovers alike.
Renvyle House Hotel is the ‘one-time’ home of writer and poet Oliver St. John Gogarty.
It is also the romantic location, chosen W B Yeats for his honeymoon 98 years ago, in October 1917.
Many other writers, poets, painters and literary giants (Seamus Heaney, President Michael D Higgins etc.) passed through its landmark doors.

Exactly one year ago to the day, Daniel’s last book ‘Saints off Connemara Coast & Other Stories’ was launched in the same location. This is the first time this has happened.
‘Croagh Patrick & Me’, it’s Daniel’s fourth book in five years.
It tells the story of his pilgrimage and over-night sleep all alone on the summit of Ireland’s Holy Mountain – Croagh Patrick – and some of the amazing history attached to this ‘most climbed mountain in the world’
