Light and Dark
By Susan Isla Tepper
Seated in front of
a full length mirror
she is a study in
light and dark
eyes slipped far back
and away—
two ringed planets
waiting to disintegrate
into other matter
her body still prevails
Shaky— but on the whole
the beauty that created her
isn’t ready to let go yet.
