Hope Twists Eternal
And it’s 4:18 and I’m still in bed
sipping on a cold brew and thinking
of my last real drink.
Tomorrow I’m back in the asylum,
as I like to call it with a smile,
to quit just once more
my favorite leisure activity.
So today (Friday),
I’ll drive to Frank’s Steakhouse
Wondering if my bartender
will be Debby or Sunday
(her real name),
And drink two martinis
along with some shrimp scampi
followed by chicken piccata
(or maybe marsala).
I might have a twist.
I might have an olive:
summertime twist
winter olive
Stabbed in the gorgeous
triangular
glass.
