Honors include 21 Pushcart Prize Nominations. Her play ‘The Crooked Heart’ concerning artist Jackson Pollock premiered on October 25, 2022 at the Irish Repertory Theatre in NYC. How I’ve Come To Remember Love

I
Sandwiches cut on the bias
cups of soup steaming
during school lunch break
Mom had ready for us
sometimes tomato
and your favorite
chicken noodle
Stomping our snow boots
first on the rubber mat

Bareback up the driveway
a farm horse heavy hooves
marking the snow
all the way ‘round
to the backyard
You seated up front
‘cause I was older
When it looked through
the kitchen window
at Mom
she just laughed

Lazarus Pond only inches deep
the perfect place to go skating
no one would drown
there—
we held hands tightly
forming a long line
doing the whip
‘round and ‘round
Kids at the end twirling so fast
then they let go
flying into kingdom come
