Headlines

By Susan Isla Tepper

Take to the high seas
she’s going to kill you
get out when you can
the headlines read.
You will never hear that shout
Coming about!
The heavy sway
of the boat’s thick boom
(if you don’t duck)
knocking your head
square off:
Man Decapitated Buried At Sea
in my dreams
the headlines read.
