Boxes
By Susan Isla Tepper
Kept us apart
you chose the night box
right side
windows shut tight
against stars and
the errant butterfly
You could always jump
if possible madness
Mine a low performer
in the chaos
never stopped swirling
A whirly-gig
against
hovering invasions
The rest was storage:
From when we were happy.
