SEND
By Susan Isla Tepper
To remember me
I send a puddle
endless tears filling
the yard down the hill
to the street—
uncontrollable storms
I send baskets of blood
the whites of
my eyes flaring
red as fire
no room for fruits or
the usual
filling a market basket
I send hair strands
that fall throughout
your bed
most uncomfortable
nesting place
in the world
For myself I send
a small garden
blooming at
the base of a living tree
