Photographic Exhibition at Tory Top Cork Library, scheduled to take place from March 5th to March 29th, 2024. The captivating showcase is aptly titled “Life Under the ‘Forgotten’ Pandemic.” Featuring a collection of 18 impactful photographs, including 9 in vibrant colour and 9 in timeless black and white, it promises to offer a thought-provoking journey through the lens of Azem Koleci.

Azem Koleci has been a resident of Cork for over two decades, embracing the new Irish identity. Despite earning a Bachelor of Science, his passion for photography led him to further studies at St John College and Crawford College of Art and Design.

He proudly holds Licentiateship awards from both the Irish Photographic Federation and the Royal Photographic Society. Azem has showcased his photographic prowess through numerous solo exhibitions, contributing to Cork’s heritage and art festivals. His works have graced esteemed venues such as the Cork Public Museum, Cork City Libraries (Central library, Douglas, Tory Top, etc.), and various local art cafe-spaces. Notably, his permanent photographic exhibition at Douglas library/shopping center stands as a testament to his artistic impact.

In the midst of the unprecedented lockdown, Azem seized the opportunity to capture the collective emotions of fear, anxiety, and stress that gripped humanity. Through his lens, he aimed to portray this unique period in a positive light, emphasizing the resilience to carry on, find joy, and adapt to new changes.

His exhibition serves as a poignant reminder that life’s essence should be cherished, and happiness should be embraced, regardless of the challenges that come our way.
