Worship

Top and bottom my hands
are clean, my heart—
is a different story
Arriving pure
till necessity carved out
a dark blank corner

I saw what you did

Martyrdom doesn’t interest me
nor will I take things lying down

Have never been remote
from the ravages
Those who love the earth best
fight hardest
