Alan Halford was born in Dublin. He worked in RTE. Award Winning Black & White photographer. Have had several exhibitions. A life time interest in short story writing, poetry and the arts. Currently working on a book that will include both my poetry and photographic works.
The Well
Longer days offer hope.
From deep my waters feels fresh light
against a tired and worn out head.
Not long before I breathe the sun again
and children laughing tickle me with pebbles dropped
and I laugh back an echoed splash.
A black bird sings his song and stops.
Peering down my neck, laced with silt and moss and shiny stones.
unafraid – listens to his song sweetly singing back.
Some love at last
The dreary days soon behind.
